The Channel Partners Expo show was in Las Vegas last week, April 11-14, and Alef was proud to be a returning sponsor of the event and see familiar faces from Nov.
We were delighted to host in-person meetings and informal conversations with over 500 attendees. We feel fortunate to have participated in and contributed to such a lively and important industry event. The excitement among channel executives surrounding Alef’s Mobile Network as a Service (MNaaSMobile Network as a Service - An API based system that allows you to start your own private LTE network without knowledge of 3GPP standards. More) was palpable and grew with each new interaction. Many attendees mentioned that the MNaaS offering is solving a real-world problem—one that all can identify as an enterprise need.
The ability for Alef to deploy and integrate inside the enterprise network as a part of the overall infrastructure stood out in everyone’s mind. The API-approach Alef has promoted clearly offers the kind of flexibility enterprises desire. When one considers doing this as a service with flexible charging models that enable a scalable path into the future, the bright lights went on with everyone we talked to. Whether IT/OT decision-makers are considering more IoTInternet of Things - Physical objects with the ability to connect and exchange data with each other over the Internet. A network of objects that are embedded with sensors, processing ability, software, to connect to and exchange data with other such objects or networks. More sensors or planning for edge computeA distributed computing paradigm that brings computation and data storage closer to the sources of data. This is expected to improve response times and save bandwidth. It is an architecture rather than a specific technology. It is a topology- and location-sensitive form of distributed computing. Alef uses edge computing concepts to offer MNaaS. (Mobile Network as a Service) More services and cloud arbitration moving forward, all agreed that MNaaS was foundational and the pivotal first step in the journey.
Lastly, our “Any-G” approach as it relates to building private mobile networks and edge infrastructure resonated across the industry. The Alef APIApplication Programmatic Interface An intermediary between two Applications/Systems or Generic Connectivity Interface to an Application. Software applications communicate with one another via APIs. Learn more about APIs and Private Networks More engine allows enterprises choice in terms of selected vendors while flexibly integrating piece parts as desired—like building blocks. Alef software hides the complexities of building mobile networks while minimizing the cost associated with that buildout through new and dynamic service models. The freedom to construct the kind of enterprise mobile network, inside the perimeter, that is completely under control of company staff and well-defined process proved an exciting proposition.
What we noticed from the Nov show to this show is that channel partners, enterprises, and suppliers are now ready, more than ever, to prepare themselves and the future of next gen applications with the technology they need to get there – edge computing.
At the end of the show, the Alef team agreed, we are onto something special in the industry.
